Missing In New Hampshire Series

In February and March, I worked on and completed a second portrait in my Missing in New Hampshire series, that of April Bailey, who is still missing from my hometown of Nashua, New Hampshire. I communicated with her sister Nicole and used her photo by permission for this work. I made this portrait with stained glass and beads on 1/2” MDF and grouted it using Starlike EVO translucent grout. I used bright blue for the background and jewelry gems for her earring.

I gifted this portrait to Nicole when it was completed.

#2 April Bailey

April Bailey has been missing since January 15, 2020. She was last seen outside her Nashua home in the evening hours. She was wearing pajamas and slippers. April is now 41 years old. She is white, 5’3” tall and has black hair and blue eyes.

If you have any information about what happened to April, please contact the NH State Police at 603-223-3648.

My stained glass portrait of April Bailey

I also spent time in March working on my stained glass portrait of Anne Frank. This is the largest portrait I’ve made at 24” x 24”, and I’m really proud of it. I’m saving it for a special submission later in the summer, so I’m hopeful that you’ll see it again soon.

Missing In New Hampshire Series

I’ve begun making stained glass portraits of people who are missing in my state. I hope this series will be useful in bringing attention to those who are missing so they are not forgotten, and to help their families search for them.

#1 Maura Murray

I made this portrait with stained glass and beads on 1/2” MDF and grouted it using Starlike EVO translucent grout. I used yellow glass for the background, not only because the original photo had yellow in the background, but because, to me, yellow is the color of positivity and hope. This portrait is based on a photo taken by the Murray family, and used with the permission of Julie Murray, Maura’s sister. I will be auctioning this piece off soon to raise money for the GOFundMe already established at mauramurraymissing.org for future testing and investigation efforts. Watch my Instagram page for auction information soon.

Update: This mosaic now has a happy new home!

“Maura Murray  disappeared on the evening of February 9, 2004, after her car crashed on Rt. 112 in Haverhill, NH. Her whereabouts remain unknown. Maura was a stand-out student-athlete from Hanson, MA enrolled in the nursing program as a junior at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Her family continues to actively search for answers in an effort to find Maura.” – from mauramurraymissing.org

If you have any information about what happened to Maura, please contact the NH State Police at 603-223-3648.
